Brussels relaxes EU state aid rules related to coronavirus

EU Member States are allowed to temporarily grant direct funds or tax benefits of up to €500,000 to companies as support for the coronavirus. Governments can also grant state guarantees on bank loans and subsidize private and public loans with impunity.

EU Commissioner Vestager (Competition) announced this on Tuesday. According to Vestager, who has already announced that it will temporarily relax state aid rules in the EU due to the economic problems caused by the virus, the measure will take effect in the coming days.
